HangarSlot is run by JH Aviation LLC ("HangarSlot", "we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use hangarslot.net and the HangarSlot app for iPhone and iPad, why, and who can see it.

The short version: we collect what's needed to keep aircraft records, schedule and fly aircraft, and share the costs. The people in your hangar see what your hangar shares with them, and nobody else does. We never sell your information, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other sites or apps.

1. What we collect

Everyone with an account

• Name, email address, phone number, and your password (stored only in scrambled, one-way form; we can't read it).
• The hangars you belong to and your role in each (owner, admin, partner, member, instructor, student, mechanic, dispatcher, or view only).
• Your pilot and mechanic credentials if you add them: certificate kinds and ratings, medical or BasicMed dates, flight review and instrument proficiency dates, and the certificate number only where a signature needs it (a mechanic's sign-off). If you agree, we check that a certificate matches the FAA's public airmen records.

Aircraft and hangars

• Aircraft details (registration, make, model, serial, engines and times), logbook entries and signatures, inspections, airworthiness directives, due items, squawks, documents and photos you upload, and checklists.
• Bookings, flights (times, Hobbs and tach, fuel, routes as typed), dispatch answers and risk assessments.
• Money your hangar records: expenses and receipts, cost shares, statements, account charges and payments, instructor pay, and gift cards.
• Messages in Flight chat and Hangar chat, fly-out plans and pilot board posts.
• For discovery flights: the customer's name and phone, and email if given, and, for someone under 18, that a parent or guardian is present. These are seen only by the hangar's staff and the instructor.

We never ask for Social Security numbers or driver's license numbers.

Devices (iPhone and iPad app)

• Device name and type, app version, the codes Apple gives us to deliver notifications, and Apple's App Attest result that confirms a logbook signature came from a genuine HangarSlot app on a real device.

AI features (reading a receipt or a checklist when you ask)

• How many AI pages your hangar used and what they cost us, to apply plan limits. We don't store the photo or what the AI read from it. You check and save the result yourself.

Technical information

• Our hosting providers keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses and times) for security and reliability. We don't write personal details (such as certificate numbers or addresses) into our own logs.

2. How we use it

• To run HangarSlot: keep your aircraft's records, show who can fly what and when, sign aircraft out and in, split costs, and keep everything in sync across your devices.
• To tell you what you asked to hear about (bookings, squawks, due items, payments), by notification, email or text.
• To keep HangarSlot secure, prevent abuse, fix problems, and meet legal obligations.

We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.

3. Who can see what

• Your hangar. People in a hangar see its aircraft, records, calendar and the parts of its money their role allows. Owners and admins choose who joins and what each person can do. Members see only their own account and statements; instructors see only their own pay.
• People you invite with view-only access (an inspector, buyer or insurer) see the aircraft records you share, for as long as you choose.
• Anyone holding a signed logbook entry can check that it's genuine with the code printed on it. They see the aircraft, date, kind of work and the signer's name and certificate kind, never the certificate number.
• Other Slot apps. If you also use RideSlot, your sign-in and credentials are shared with it, and nothing else moves between the apps without your consent.
• HangarSlot administrators may access an account when you ask for help or to keep the Service safe.
• Hangar talk (the hangar's jokes and banter) is never put into records, exports, AI output, safety items, calendars or anything sent to customers.

4. Companies that help us run HangarSlot

We use these providers, under contracts that limit what they can do with your information:

We also read public FAA data: the aircraft registry, the releasable airmen file (to check certificates you agree to have checked; we keep only the result, never addresses), and airworthiness directives from the FAA's DRS system.

Text messages. If you opt in to HangarSlot text alerts, we keep your mobile number, when you confirmed it and the wording you agreed to, and use them only to send the alerts you chose. Reply STOP to any text, or turn texts off in Notification settings, to stop them. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Cookies, location and tracking

We never track you. HangarSlot doesn't collect your location. There is no advertising, analytics or tracking code from other companies in the app or the website, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites. The website uses its own cookies only to keep you signed in.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. Aircraft records belong with the aircraft and are kept for as long as the aircraft's owners keep them, as maintenance records must be. When you delete your account (Delete my account, in your account settings), we delete or anonymize your information, except what we must keep for legal reasons and the aircraft records and signed entries you were part of, which keep only your name as it appears on them. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.

7. Your choices and rights

You can see and update most of your information in HangarSlot, and download a copy (Download my data). You can also ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete your account and information, or stop using your information for a purpose you object to.

Email privacy@hangarslot.net. We'll answer within 30 days and won't treat you differently for asking. Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have additional rights; we honor these requests for everyone.

8. Security

Information is encrypted on its way to and from HangarSlot and while stored. Access is limited by rules in the database itself, so each person reaches only the hangars, aircraft and records they're allowed to see, and uploaded files are kept in private storage. Logbook signatures are tied to the signer's device and checked on the server. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

9. Children

HangarSlot isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. Student pilots under 18 need a parent or guardian to agree to our Terms for them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email privacy@hangarslot.net and we'll delete it.

10. Where your information is kept

HangarSlot is run from the United States, and your information is stored in the United States.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a significant way, we'll tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
